For the most accurate quote, have the following information handy:
1) How many times do you want to be able to update your messaging in the upcoming year?
2) How many physical locations will be playing the production on their phone system? Or, if utilizing a call center, how many trunks does the call center handle at a given time?
3) What type of voice might fit your brand? (male or female? younger or more mature?)
4) What music style fits your brand best?

Message on Hold FAQs
A Message or Music on Hold production can be as short or long as you need depending on your typical hold times. We will help you determine a length that works best for your company.
Yes, we can! Help with your scripting is actually included in our Message on Hold program! If you want a little direction, we can help you figure out what information to include. Your Project Manager can write an on hold script using information from your website and any other marketing materials you provide, and then send you a draft that you can tweak however you wish. Use the draft as a great starting point for your team or, if you love it as is, just let us know and we’ll get it recorded! We can go back and forth with the script as much as needed until you’re completely happy with it.
Once scripting is finalized, we ask for 5 business days to get your script recorded, edited, and ready for you to preview. If you need it sooner, your Project Manager will confirm our ability to meet your deadline and will let you know ahead of time. Expedite fees will apply.
Of course! After we get your script recorded and put to music, your Project Manager will send you an MP3 preview of your new production. We’ll only create the final format once we get your approval of the preview.
If there’s something about the music bed you want changed, we’ll be happy to submit a revision request to our studio for a music revision (and there is no charge for a music change). If your talent has already recorded and you want to make a script change or if you just want to switch to a different voice talent after hearing the preview, there will be a revision charge to cover the cost of an additional voice session. There is no revision fee charged to correct something mispronounced or read incorrectly.
We do offer an easy-to-use USB Message on Hold player you can plug into your existing system. Or, if you’re looking to upgrade to a cloud-based business phone system, talk to us before you make that switch! Over the years, we have developed strategic relationships with various telecommunications providers that can offer a wide variety of options to fit your business needs. Best of all, when your system is installed, we can have your custom prompts ready-to-load, so you experience zero downtime!
We can provide any file format your phone system requires. If you don’t know the format you need, you should be able to get this information from you IT Department or Phone Vendor.
Yes! Our music library is licensed for telephony, so as long as you are a current Walsh Media client, your music is covered under the license we maintain with our music library providers.
Pricing for Message and Music on Hold is based on the number of productions you purchase up front, as well as the number of physical locations at which the production will be heard or the number of trunks serviced by your call center. We’ll be happy to provide a no-obligation quote.
As your anniversary date approaches, we will contact you about renewing your Message or Music on Hold agreement. At that point, you can purchase more productions or opt to simply maintain the licensing on the music already playing on your system.
Good question! It may not seem like it, but playing music on your phone system is actually considered a ‘public performance’ as far as copyright law is concerned, so licensing fees are charged to ensure that composers and musicians are compensated for their work. Our library is fully licensed through BMI and Universal Production Music, so you can rest assured that any production we create for you will be properly licensed.
