Of course! If you have team members in your organization that can provide a translation that you trust, we’re fine with that.
We strongly discourage using any online translator for your IVR script. IVR is often recorded in short phrases that will be joined together (concatenated) when played on your phone system. An online translator will miss the contextual requirements of those types of phrases.
When you let your Project Manager know that the English scripting is ‘final’ (no more additions or changes), we will request the translation.
Localization is translating a document to target a very specific culture, region and/or dialect. In some cases, it might be necessary, but your Project Manager will help you decide if this level of targeting is needed. Our translators do an excellent job of translating text to appeal to a wide variety of dialects within a given language which is ideal for most applications.
In some instances, proper dialects must be taken into account (i.e. Spanish in Mexico is different from Spanish in Spain or Puerto Rico). Because of this, you benefit from using International translation experts who will:
- Address consistency in terminology and grammar throughout the script and in future projects
- Provide suggestions for instances when gender or grammar sensitive languages interfere with a system’s existing design
- Ensure translation of concatenated phrases meet contextual requirements
Most short scripts (5 prompts or less) can be translated in a couple of days (or less) depending on the language requested. Longer scripts, or scripts requiring translators located in other parts of the world (in other time zones) may require more time. We’ll let you know what to expect so there are no surprises.
Small projects will be subject to a minimum charge depending on the language. Larger projects are calculated based on the number of translated words and pricing starts at .40/translated word.
